Ordinances Related to Research
Ordinance VI B relating to admissions, conduct and evaluation with respect to the doctoral programme at the University has been thoroughly revamped. Admissions to the programme on the basis of a formalized process involving entrance examination and/or interview has been made mandatory. With enhanced funding from the UGC all doctoral students are being provided scholarships. Students provisionally registered for their Ph.D. degrees are now required to do course work. The span has been reduced, and an advisory committee created for better supervision/mentoring. In the revised ordinance, college teachers can be appointed as Ph.D. supervisors.
