About College
MATA SUNDRI COLLEGE FOR WOMEN is a constituent college of the University of Delhi. It was established by Delhi Sikhs Gurudwara Management committee in the year 1967.The college is named after Mata Sundri ji, the consort of tenth Guru, Gobind Singh Ji.
The college made a modest beginning in 1967 with only 415 students and 14 staff members. Now it has come up as a leading institutions of Delhi University. At present we have 154 teachers, 71 non-teaching staff members and 2657 students.
It was established to propagate the great Mother's cherished ideals of service, leadership and academic pursuits among young women with the motto "Truth is the highest virtues but true living is higher still". Over all these years, we have been trying our utmost to keep the ideals set up by Mata Sundri Ji. Our college has not only made a mark in the academic field but is also known for developing students to be good citizens with high social and ethical values.
Apart from providing higher education in the traditional fields of Arts & Commerce, The college is striving to become a centre for the promotion of Punjabi Language and Culture.
The college lies in the heart of Delhi, with the Rajiv Chowk and Barakhamba Road metro stations falling within a radius of 1 km. The Tilak Bridge railway stations are also at a walking distance from college. |
